Trust Yourself!! You are Worth it!

This blog is just for you!  Everything you need to start improving your confidence as an athlete!

A Letter From Coach Brittany…

As a competitive athlete you know how hard it is to be successful and to accomplish your goals. You also know that even when you are trying your best, things do not always go the way you want them to. You have great days and you have ones where you question your talents. You sometimes feel on top of the clouds and other times invisible, as if someone covered you with a dirty rug. You sometimes feel proud and sometimes absolutely horrified with your progress.

I see athletes every day trying their best and getting so down on themselves because it is not working the way they want it to. I see them give up because the pain and suffering that it takes to overcome their fears is just too overbearing for them.

It breaks my heart! It hurts to see them give up all of the hard work they put into their sport because it is “too overbearing” or “too scary” or even just “too hard. Why did you work so hard to begin with? Why do you do what you do? Why did you put your body through so much physical stress to get this far? I make a point to ask my own athletes these questions when they are feeling as though a brick just fell on their foot and they cannot escape. Most times the response I hear is “because I Love it”! This is the most amazing answer I have ever heard! You feel beat up and torn down but yet you still love it! That response immediately shows your positive determination as an athlete just by saying those words. If you love something you have to be passionate enough about it to be physically and emotionally able to push through all of the bumps in the road. Once you finally get past some of those bumps you will feel amazing! Like you can fly!

I want to help you find yourself when things get tough. Even if you just need a little encouragement, I want to be there for you. I want to help you find the positives and strengths in your life to empower you through whatever it is you need to get through. I am not here to lie to you by saying that everything is okay when it is not. I am here to help you find ways to overcome what is “not okay” so that eventually it can be. I am here to help you learn about yourself and to determine what YOU need to make yourself better.

When you change your negative attitude to a positive one it is so much easier to come up with new ideas. A positive change can create a clear view of what is really going on at that moment in time. Everything will not be okay unless you work hard and make changes to make it that way. The situation will not be changed if you have not given everything you can to make it different. The more you work out your issues with yourself the stronger you will become.

Do you know why?

Because YOU figured out the problem, YOU made changes within your attitude and in the ways of looking at the situation and because of that, YOU came up with the solutions. No one else did it for you! You learn he best when YOU discover how and what you need to improve yourself. It is essential that you learn about yourself in order to find ways to be better than you were yesterday.

I can’t wait to hear fom you!

Brain Game #7 – The Team Cheer

Brain Game #7 – The Team Cheer

This brain game is so much fun because you get to make up a cheer! I don't think I know an athlete who doesn't like doing cheers. Even the quietest and most shy athletes will have fun with this. I encourage all teams to have one and to show it off on a regular basis....

Brain Game #6 – Pass It On Motivation

This brain game is a little different. It is intended for a team or group of people. It can be as little as 3 people or as big as you want. With 3 people, the game may go by too quickly but can still be effective. It will work better with more participants. I would...
