We all know that some days are tough and some days feel like the best ever. Today was one of those amazing days for me and I would like to take the time to share it with you. It was full of fitness, work, fun and self care.  I was both mentally and physically productive in so many different ways. It was a perfect example of why I work hard to accomplish my dreams. Keep in mind, even though this day sounds amazing, it doesn’t doesn’t always go like this.

My coaching schedule is quite demanding and often changes based on competitions, events and private lessons, making it nearly impossible to follow this routine daily. Often times, I have to allow myself to be flexible while balancing a full-time coaching job, running a business and of course making time for self-care . I look forward to the days where I can do this without interruption. So here it goes.

The Beautiful Morning

This morning I woke up to a quiet household and a beautiful sunny backyard. The sun was shining and it was warm outside. The trees were gently blowing in the wind and the flowers looked absolutely stunning. I drank 1 cup of Happy Planet Clean Protein and a full glass of water to help fuel my body. If you know me well enough, you know that coffee is a number one priority every morning. I believe in the benefits of caffeine for athletes but I also just love it so much that I would never give it up. Did you know that even Hitler had shots of caffeine and glucose on his final days before he died to help keep his energy levels up.

Online Business & Coaching Admin Work

Following my wake up, I did some emailing, scheduling and online business work.

I like to schedule blocks or time to get my work done and do a large portion of work in that scheduled time. If I make a plan and give myself a time limit,I tend to work faster and more efficiently. Today I was able to accomplish exactly what I wanted but the admin work got very draining. It was time for a break.

Brain Break

I decided to do a core burner yoga session by the pool. I find yoga helps to prepare my mind for a long day of things that need to get done as well as relax and take away any stress I may have been holding in. I am the kind of person that likes to get things done fast and efficiently. If something is obstructing my focus, I tend to get frustrated and impatient. Yoga helps to get my mind back on track during times like this. Even though my core was dying of pain, it felt absolutely amazing. I love Boho Beautiful’s channel on YouTube.

They are all free videos but are certainly worth it. I have included the link to her channel if you are interested. Her voice is the perfect mix of relaxation with a bit of energy so you don’t fall asleep. I encourage you to try it out and see how doing a short yoga session can help your stress levels drop immensely. I do it as a form of meditation but others may do it for fitness and other health aspects . I strongly encourage you to check her out at https://www.youtube.com/bohobeautiful

Cool off

You can almost assume that by the end of my yoga session, I was scorching in the sun and sweating buckets. At this point, 10 laps in the pool to cool off seemed like the right thing to do. The water was wonderful to jump into after that small workout. Cardio is my least favourite part of any workout so whenever I am feeling motivated, I try and utilize that time while I am willing.

Cardio also helps to control stress levels so it is a great way to break up the intense parts of your day.

What’s for lunch?

Something about me is that I am always hungry. I like to blame it on fitness. Jokingly of course, but basically the more I lift the more I eat. I decided to make scrambled eggs with Marc Angelo chicken sausage, spinach, mushrooms, onions and cheese. Protein is a must!

Back to Work

After eating, I set up to do some more work. Today I chose to do some writing for my readers to enjoy.

Coaching

Next I was off to the gym. It was my absolute pleasure to coach some amazing and hardworking athletes during the evening. This is something I have the opportunity of doing 5-6 days per week on a regular basis.

The cool part about coaching is that no matter what kind of day it is, learning still takes place. It could be the best day ever or feel like the worst but as an athlete you are still becoming stronger, more knowledgeable and more confident in your abilities. It is so rewarding to see athletes overcoming fears, realizing that they are worth every minute of the effort they put into their training and learning how to be confident in themselves.

My Weekly Challenge

After coaching I went to the gym to workout. Anytime Fitness is great because I can literally go anytime, anywhere. They have many locations to take advantage of. I sometimes get to work out with my sister who is also my best friend and today was one of those days. I find it difficult to work all day, coach and be physically active for so many hours and then still go to the gym afterwards. Working out with someone I trust and am completely confident around is motivating and helps to keep me on my feet.

The End…NOT

After fulfilling my workout I drove home to eat something full of protein, drink water, shower and get ready for bed. I usually use bed time as an opportunity to get a little more work done. I like to do more of my creative stuff in the evening such as writing or working with photos and videos. I usually read and do some extra learning during this time as well.

It is a perfect time for reading because it is usually more quiet and relaxing at this point in the day. I like to end my day with a small reflection of how I am feeling. I often ask myself if I was focused on my future goals and if I remained positive during times that may have been difficult. I like to think about how I can better myself for the following day, week, month or year. I write down new goals in a notebook if I come up with any. Lastly, I was off to bed to dream about another beautiful day.

It sounds amazing right?

Well….

Like I mentioned earlier, I don’t do this everyday. Routine is something I sincerely enjoy but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. The same routine everyday is great for certain people. When I was younger I enjoyed my same routine daily because I felt comfortable and secure that way. It taught me discipline and how to be more organized. Now that I am older, I look forward to changing things up and giving my mind a break. I also find it leaves an opportunity to explore different mindsets. One day I may deal with stress and another day could be the most rewarding day I have ever experienced. The most important thing while living this type of busy lifestyle is to take care of yourself and make sure you are getting the personal time you need even during busy days. I work hard everyday so that I can live this way, be happy with myself and be proud of my personal accomplishments in health, fitness and business.

Self Reward

I constantly remind myself of how proud I am for challenging both my mind and body everyday. Your goals and achievements are only worth it if you challenge yourself to make it happen and if you constantly have something new to look forward to. It’s so hard to stay focused on a goal if you have nothing to look forward to so I strongly encourage you find time to go over where you see yourself in 1 year, 2 years or many more down the road. Make a point of reflecting on how you are challenging yourself daily and what you have to gain from it.
